Events

An event is essentially a stream of a particular kind that you want to broadcast. It can be

  1. a general stream with no specific features
  2. an individual competition where individual athletes perform
  3. a match between two teams

The individual competition supports the management of the starting list and the current competitor.

The match contains information about teams line up, time, score and the individual performance of each player

General stream

General stream event contains two tabs

  • Tab "Widgets" contains all the widgets you plan to use in your broadcast
  • Tab "Desks" contains all desks with quick buttons to control widgets and the OBS Studio from other devices in your private network

In general, this type of Event just serves to group your widgets and quick buttons together. If there are few widgets, they can also be managed separately from their consoles without creating this type of Event

Competition

Individual competition event contains additionally 1 tab with the option to select a group of participants. To use this type of Event you must have previously created groups with individual participants in the "Data directory" page and at least one bundle with widgets.

In the top right corner of the Competition console you will see a button that opens the settings window for this competition. For newly created events it will be marked with alert icon Settings button. This means additional configuration is required. Open the settings window and enter the competition name, logo and select widgets that will be used to display a table of participants and details about an individual participant. But first attach widgets on the "Widgets" tab.

Then go to the "Widgets" tab and open Starting List widget in the browser.

Then go back to the "Participants" tab, choose a some group and click Starting List "Show" button. You will see that selected participants are shown in the table.

In the widget settings, you can set the auto-hide widget, then the widget will automatically hide after a specified amount of time.

The same sequence applies to other widgets. Open the widget with information about an individual participant. When you click the "Show" button, the participant's information is displayed on the widget.

Match

General match event contains additionally 2 tabs with general information about the match and about each individual player. To use this type of Event you must have previously created two teams with players and one set of attributes in the "Data directory" page. Set of attributes must have at least one attribute of "Score" type. How to add attributes see this part of our documentation. In the match settings you need to enter the match name and logo, match attributes as well as the widgets that will be used to display the players table, match results and information about the individual player. But first create a bundle and then attach widgets on the "Widgets" tab.

Go to the "Widgets" tab and open the match statistics widget in the browser. Then go to the "Match" tab and click "Update" button. Match data will be applied to the widget.

Now let's take a look at the "Players" tab. This tab is used to control the display of the player table and individual player widgets. Open the Teams Line Up widget in the browser. Click line up "Show" button and selected players will be shown in the table.

Now let's try to display some information about player. Open the Player Banner widget in the browser. This widget we have chosen to display information about penalties. To do this, enable the corresponding button. Depending on which mode we turn on, that widget will receive the player's data. We have selected widgets for each mode in the match settings dialog.

Now click the "Show" button next to the desired player. The player's data will be sent to the widget.
